Brief Answer:
Possible Urinary Tract Infection

Detailed Answer:
Hellom

The symptoms described sound to me as a potential UTI (Urinary Tract Infection). Burning with urination is a hallmark symptom. Nonetheless there are other causes. Any blockage of outflow of urine stream can also yield such symptoms (i.e. prostate enlargement, urethral strictures, bladder issues). I would suggest a consultation with a physician as to at least assess a Urinalysis. This will determine whether there is blood or infections in the Urine, as to better assess what is the issue at hand. A physician should also be able to provide a Prostate exam, and if these are negative or he/she has reasons for further assessment, can recommend your husband to a Urologist. I believe this is an excellent place to start.

Warm Regards.
