Brief Answer:
Probably nerves getting affected

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for your query.

There can be many reasons for these symptoms.
The basic cause being nerves supplying the limbs getting affected. Most probably the nerves are getting pinched near the shoulder joint during sleep.

Why these are getting affected? That is the question. It could be due to vit B12 deficiency. Another reason could be weak muscles and ligaments of the shoulder joint maybe due to infections etc. Do you have any other symptoms?

I would suggest the following:
- Get tested for vit B12 deficiency, calcium and vit D deficiency
- Get tested for complete blood count and other basic tests. It will give a hint about any infections etc
- Take supplements according to test reports. A combination of vit B12, Pyridoxine and thiamine are advised.
- Get an orthopedic surgeon consult
- Last but not least: take care of your diet. Drink atleast two glasses of milk in a day. Take more of fruits. Drink cleanest water to avoid water borne infections. It will help you a lot.
