What Causes Intermittent Chest Pain, Fatigue And Breathlessness?

default
Posted on Tue, 29 Dec 2015
Question: 35 year old male, white, bp 135/80, no meds.
Had a stress test XXXXXXX 2015 and a echo in February 2015, both results normal. I still get occasional chest pains, I normally attribute it to workouts, especially pull ups and push ups, Friday about mid day started having some chest discomfort on left side , thought It may be muscles. Later I felt exhausted, my arms felt lethargic and no energy. Saturday felt slightly better, but upper body feels very sore and just feel exhausted, and out of breath I don't know if I'm getting sick, or just really sore from these workouts or this is heart related.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

I passed carefully through your recent medical history and complaints history and I would like to assure you that your symptoms have nothing to do with any cardiac disorders.

First I would like to emphasize that a very strenuous physical exertion may irritate neural endings through out the muscles and tendons when stretching, pulling or pushing up and produce persisting pain and that kind of discomfort that you are experiencing.

Also anaerobic metabolism during extreme training may be the reason for muscle pain and exhaustion.

Coming to this point I recommend you to follow a more careful and properly scheduled training regimen, better under a certified expert supervision.

If your complaints persist I recommend performing some tests :

-chest X ray study
-backbone imaging tests
-a total cardiopulmonary exercise test

and re-discuss with your doctor about any alternative responsible factor.

Hope to have been helpful!

Feel free to ask any other questions whenever you need!

Greetings!

Dr. Iliri
