What Causes Intermittent Blood In Semen?
Question: I have red semen every six months. I masturbate one to two times a week should I be concerned and how long should it take for the blood in semen to go away? The last time it took a couple weeks for the blood to dissapear.

I am Dr.Muhammad Ahmad. I have read your question completely, i understand your concern and will try to help you in best way possible.
It might be due to inflammation of the prostat it usually should take 7..10 days for the blood to go away. This seems nothing to worry about but still if there are any other symptoms like pain ..burning urination... frequent urination then you should see your urologist.
I would also want my similer patients to get an Ultrasound pelvis. You urologist will decide about this. Till then In my opinion I dont see any reason for you to be worried abd there is no medication you need to use just drink much water and try to avoid any stress to your genitals..like aggressive masturbation etc.
