Question: I have intermittent, sharp abdominal pains. Some bright red blood in the stool. No real bowel movement. Nausea this morning, but not now.

You could be suffering from a gastrointestinal infection and that could have resulted in dysentery. Alternatively you could have constipation and that could have led to bleeding from the anus. The management of these conditions is entirely different and you need to be examined clinically. I would insist you to visit a doctor and to get yourself evaluated.
