Brief Answer:
Sun protection; Sunscreens; Vitamin A diet

Detailed Answer:
Hello young man,

Welcome again to the forum and thanks for your swift follow up as well as adding all the important informations.

Skinlite contains hydroquinone, steroid and tretinoin. The cream is good but shouldn't be used without a dermatologist's prescription. On its prolonged use it can cause thinning skin with red irritated skin or even hair growth because of the steroid content of mometasone.

On the other side Skinlite ever contains tretinoin which is though a very good peeling agent but on its injudicious use can irritate your skin and may cause rebound hyperpigmentation.

Let me guide you regarding your pigmentation problem. There are two important factors involved in the pigmentation of these areas:

1. Genetical Melanosis: The pigmentation at the facial areas is genetically determined. To tell you simply, the darkness is due to the activity of melanocytes in the skin. These melanocytes are the cells which regularly produces color/pigment known as melanin in the skin. These are superficially present in the upper skin known as epidermis. This is a tendency in us to get higher activity of these melanocytes at the facial area according to our genetic make up. It is seen on higher side in people of Asiatic origin than in white population.

2. Secondly these areas are further darkened by the process known as "Post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation" or PIH. The facial area is prone for sun damage and it causes over production of melanin in the skin. This pigmentation is known as "sun tanning". As facial area is quite sensitive so we can not apply any cream which is available over the counter as can cause burning and further aggravation of the condition.

As already said that ht creams you are using may cause irritation on skin and therefore rebound hyper-pigmentation therefore in my opinion you should not use any of these creams as self application as rather than helping you these can harm you. You should take a proper dermatological advice where your skin can be analyzed physically and then accordingly the best treatment can be given.

If I were your treating dermatologist then I would have prescribed a cream (under dermatological supervision) containing Kojic acid with arbutin and mulberry extract in it or Azelaic acid cream. These are one of the safest creams to be applied. Apply any of these creams in a very thin layer at night time only so that these should not be visible to naked eye. Apply at night time before sleeping. You can use the same for 1-2 month of period to see the results.

Use Sunscreens as these do help in reducing the harsh effect of UV radiations. Even then whenever the sunscreen is used- it should be used half an hour before going out as it requires 30 minutes to get activated. A reapplication is required every 3 hourly to get an active protection.

- Vitamin A plays a very important role in UV protection. It along with certain antioxidants in our diet of fruits helps us best in reducing the damage of sun light. So I suggest you to have lot vitamin A and lycopene in diet. You should eat all fruits as well papaya, tomatoes and beat root containing these things in plenty.

The condition will get better in multiple of months to get better so have patience as well best of measure as suggested above.

I hope these informations will help you. I will be glad to answer any further of your queries.
