Brief Answer:
Rod Implant has unlikely a relation with hair fall.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I understand that you are suffering from hair fall & gaining weight. Implantation of the rod has unlikely to do anything from hair fall. There is a possibility that your symptoms can be due to medication. Valproic Acid has some side effects. One of them is alopecia (hair fall). In <10% cases, patients may suffer from increased appetite which can result in gaining of weight.

Can you share the following details please:
1. Have you undergone ultrasound pelvis recently? if yes then kindly share its result.
2. Is your menstrual cycle regular? Any history of an altered cycle or increased bleeding?
3. What are your normal daily routine and dietary habit?

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Brief Answer:
Apologies for the delay in response; symptoms most probably drug-induced

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

First of all, please accept my apology for a delay in response. I have gone through the answers. As mentioned earlier, there is quite a possibility that your symptoms are drug induced. I would suggest you to once discuss with your treating doctor about changing the medicine so that you can observe if there is an improvement in your symptoms. Meanwhile, if I were your treating doctor then I would have advised the following measures:

- Take Acetaminophen for headache.
- Take zinc supplement
- Multivitamin supplement (like vitamin B complex)
- Take a balanced & nutritious diet rich in protein, iron and vitamin A. Good sources include legume, lentils, paneer, green leafy vegetables, fruits and milk.
- Use a mild shampoo
- Stay away from chemical treatments
- Do not tie your hair very tight.
- Massage warm coconut oil into your scalp atleast twice a week. Cover your hair with a warm towel after that for 10-15 minutes.

All there measures will hopefully help in improving the problem but you should discuss with your treating doctor about current medication as well (to change it).

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.

Brief Answer:
Yes, most probably bipolar medicine induced

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Yes, there is a high probability that the symptoms are due to the bipolar medicine induced and would improve by changing the medicine. Lithium can also cause thinning of hairs but it is <1%.

Hope I have answered your query.
