What Causes Inability To Eat Food Properly Post Gall Bladder Removal?

default
Posted on Sat, 22 Nov 2014
Question: After my sister's gall bladder removal 2 years ago, she has not been able to eat. She has tried many types of enzymes, but they burn her stomach. (She is 5'4" and weighs 57 lbs.) She has been living on plain mashed potatoes, sometimes with beets or waxed beans. She's been to many doctors who prescribe various medications, however, nothing works. She also has food allergies; i.e. dairy wheat, meat, etc. Where can she get help? What should we do? Thanks.

Brief Answer:
I'll need more information

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
you've mentioned that your sister cannot eat normally. What happens if she eats 'forbidden' food? (diarrhea, pain, bloating, etc).
What has she tried so far. You haven't been specific about it in your description. Please provide more information.
Does she have other medical problems? Does she take any drugs? Is 57 lbs right???
How was the food allergy diagnosed? And when? What happened when she ate meat?
Will you provide test results please? Tests of particular interest include:
- complete blood count
- erythrocyte sedimentation rate
- albumin/globulins and serum protein electrophoresis
- liver function tests
- antibodies for celiac disease
- radiological tests (Ultrasound, computer tomography, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography-ERCP or magnetic RCP)
I'll be waiting for the results.
Kind Regards!
