default
Posted on Thu, 2 Oct 2014
Question: I am curious as what can cause hot hands and feet. My hands and feet feel hot and tight and achy. The only thing that makes it feel better is running them under cold water. It is worse in the morning. This is a recent change. It started about 2 months ago. I have had cold cold hands my whole life. Is this a joint issue?

Brief Answer:
It does not seem to be arthritis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The symptoms of joint arthritis definitely include heat and pain, however more important than that would be swelling in the area of joints. As you have not stated that there is any swelling, I am assuming that you don't have swollen joints.
so it is probably not arthritis.

But achiness may be due to a number of causes like low vitamin D levels. So may be you could that checked through your local physician.

Let me know if you need any other specific information.

Regards
