Brief Answer:
Cancer development is rare during this period

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.

I was just wondering why a man of 38 ages should worry so much about cancer. Was there anyone who suffered from cancer in the family or friends?

Cancer of abdomen is usually without any symptoms in the initial period. Since your CT scan was already done in April, the cancer to develop in 8 months is a remote possibility.

Your symptoms of discomfort and slight heaviness in stomach, loss of appetite, loss of 4 kg in 25 days, can be due to anxiety and fear it.

I have seen images; please post the report of the CT scan and any other tests done so far.
I would recommend you also to undergo upper GI Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, and Review CT scan of the abdomen.
This will make sure the diagnosis and further steps can be taken according to the diagnosis hence made.

Till then just relax, getting cancer at such an early age is rare so nothing much to worry about till the final reports is available.

I hope this answer helps you, please feel free to ask for any clarifications you want, but post the reports and not the scans.

Brief Answer:
Seen the reports- say no cancer.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback.
I have seen the reports.
CT scan report says intestines are normal, no mass no lymph nodes, multiple hepatic hemangiomas and right renal calculus of 4.8 mm. This means there is no cancer.

I thought of cancer in a relative and you have explained that your distant relative had cancer.
We call this problem as Cancer-phobia.
But nothing to worry, get the endoscopies and fresh CT scan of the abdomen done and please give me the fresh reports.

The WBC can increase due to infection anywhere in the body, urinary tract in your case and I hope you must have already got treated well. Take plenty of oral fluids and water.

You have a problem of fear for the last 6 years that is since your age of 32. If the cancer would have been there, you would have far more serious problem.

You have to undergo all the tests I have advised and make your heart strong.
Do you take any tobacco, hot spicy, masala food, non vegetarian food, smoking or alcohol?

I am thinking that you are un-necessarily having the fear. For no obvious reason this can increase your Blood Pressure and lead to diabetes or so. You have to become stress-free.
Medicine is an evidence-based science so get the tests done and just relax, boss. You are too young to think so much.

I hope this answer helps you, please feel free to ask for more if you need to.

Brief Answer:
This is very very rare to get a cancer in 6 to 8 months.

Detailed Answer:
No, this is very rare to develop cancer just in 8 months.

At least get Upper GI Endoscopy and colonoscopy as early as possible to alleviate the fears.

Phobias are worst than the disease. Help yourself to come out of these phobias.

Just relax !!!
Have a great day.

Brief Answer:
Yes, it can - and has widespread negative effects.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Good afternoon.

Phobias spoil all the aspects of life- personal, familial, spiritual, sexual, social; I hope you understand what I mean by- the appetite is a very small part of these aspects.
It does reduce appetite, hunger, weight and interest in life, yes, it can worsen the hunger.
As Surgeon acting as a Family Doctor- I can tell you with the history you have provided phobias / anxiety and stress can lower the appetite.

Brief Answer:
Change yourself - few investigations to push your positive thoughts

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

I hoped that this discussion is a part of the exercise I am trying to alleviate your fear / phobia/ anxiety.
Be assured dear; what worst can come to?
Out of so many, so many relatives and friends only one of your relative has cancer and that affected you so much. CT scan and blood reports are near normal, none showing any signs of Cancer.

Yet to make sure (for your mind) get a fresh CT scan of the abdomen done and other relevant tests done.

You have to start believing in yourself and someone like a Doctor / friend / Philosopher.

I am deadly against the medicines to be started for alleviating the phobia as they will alter the mind only. You only can change yourself and your thoughts; no one else.

GO out of the house and office. GO outing with friends / family, switch off the XXXXXXX stop searching the internet, be in the pure nature; even a few days will be sufficient for you to change yourself.

Try out and you will be fine, I am sure about it. (I too do the same whenever I face similar situations), and this works...
