What Causes Heart Palpitations In An Elderly Person?

default
Posted on Fri, 7 Oct 2016
Question: Morning... I am a 71 year old male, good health, no medication, 5'11' 190 weight, not a smoker, not a heavy drinker: My question is that this morning a 2-3 second bubble feeling under my right breast nipple, feeling about 1/2' within me has been occurring, with amazing regularity of 48 seconds plus or minus 1 or 2 seconds...do I add this to my other aches and pains of age?

Brief Answer:
It could be palpitations. We need to rule out a Heart disorder.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir,
Welcome to Health Care Magic and Thank you for your question.
This is indeed a very strange complaint.
I would feel that you are having palpitations but the side is not right for that.
Please see a GP or a Physician who can run some tests like ECG, Chest XRay or Echo to rule out any heart or lung diseases.
This would at least rule out anything serious with your body.
Take care and do let me know if there are any queries on this issue.
