Brief Answer:
it's a normal thing

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking to HCM!

I would like to say don't worry it's a normal thing to feel heart beats when you lay down to sleep.

Also heart palpitations is a very common symptom that accompany colitis.

So I recommend:
- eating small portion 5 times a day
- don't eat anything 2-3 hours before going to sleep.
- avoid alcohol and spicy food.

Hope this was of help!

Detailed Answer:
Hi back XXXX

Thank you for giving further specifications.

Then, if it is laxative, then, I do not recommend to use it for long-term due to above-mentioned side effects. What worries me is the bowel movement as it will be altered due to long-term use of laxatives.

Alteration in blood electrolytes can happen and would give the clinic of further health problems including renal and heart issues.

The only one recommended laxative for long time use is lactulose.

All the best!
