What Causes Hearing Popping Sounds In Lower Rib Cage?

Question: I heard a pop or something on my left side and my lower ribs and the muscles below hurt
could it be an intercostal muscle strain? Should I go the ER, happened about 10 hours ago

I don't think you should go to er since serious injuries can't occur after such incidents. This is probably intercostal muscle sprain or pinched intercostal nerve. You should rest,apply cold compresses,take nonsteroid painkillers. It should pass in few days. Wish you good health. Regards
