What Causes Headaches With Earache And Shoulder Pain?

Question: on the back right side of my head there is pain that at times gets rather severe at times and my ear and shoulder hurt all at the same time. What may that be? and should I go to the ER or make a DR. appointment?

Did you ever sustain injury to neck ?

Do you sweat profusely or get breathless during pain episode ?

no injury to neck

about 6 days had problem

no sweating during episode

no getting breathless, just pain and tenderness in back of head
was on steroids a few weeks ago for lower back

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in my response.

The pain you describe could be due to musculoskeletal problem. If it is severe then you may have to start with getting an Xray of the cervical spine. If there are no bony defects then getting an MRI to see whether any ligament or muscle inflammation is necessary.

If the pain is not too severe, I would recommend application of local pain killer gel like Diclofenac three times a day . Providing rest thereafter for few days would surely bring the pain down.
