Question: My 10 yr old boy is hypothyroidism. He is taking thyroid med. he has headaches every morn. Could this be due to the medicine? What should his TSH be

The headaches are unlikely to be due to synthroid.

In general, the TSH target for his age group needs to be closer to 0.5 to 2. However a thorough assessment is required before establishing individual goals for him. This is possible only by a detailed physical examination by a pediatric endocrinologist, who will evaluate his growth, development and other pituitary/hormone related matters.
