default
Posted on Thu, 12 Mar 2015
Question: its been three days since im having a slight headache. Tonight, i felt dizzy/light headed.
and muscle aches (maybe bec. of the sudden exercise i took 3 days ago).

These are the things ive done.
- my schedule changed from 7am to 5 am shift. requiring me to wake up at 3am instead of the usual 5am.
- only slept about 6 hours or less.
- unable to eat lunch and breakfast on time due to work sched.
- only taking vitamins c.
- unable to eat fruits and veggies.
- standing for almost 6 hours everyday.
- once i get home at 4pm. I would sleep till 6pm and then wake up to take dinner, shower and sleep around 10 or 11pm.

my presumption is, maybe im lacking vitamins.
I just dont know if this is bec of my eye grade which is uneven. Or i need enough rest. wrong sleeping pattern? Pls advise.

Brief Answer:
Change in schedule may have caused it

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thank you for using Healthcare Magic. It is likely the change in schedule and some other factors have resulted in your headaches and dizziness. Disrupting the sleep cycle even by just a couple of hours has all sorts of negative side effects. The muscle aches are probably due to the sudden exercise you took. However, poor or inadequate sleep can also result in muscle aches, so that could be an aggravating factor.

You certainly need more vitamin supplementation than you are getting. Vitamin C alone is not enough. Plus you are missing a lot of important vitamins by not eating fruits and vegetables. I encourage you to try to eat more of those, plus take a good multivitamin with minerals.

You are not getting adequate rest, plus you are straining your body with the long hours of standing and inadequate meals. For the best results, 7 to 8 hours of GOOD sleep is needed. You are getting only 6 or less hours, and I suspect it is not of good quality.

It takes a while for the body to adjust to time changes. Some of this should resolve after time, but if you continue with your current pattern, you may continue to have problems.

Suggestions:

Try to get at least 7 to 8 hours of CONTINUOUS sleep. This will require adjusting your schedule of meals and showering. Perhaps have dinner when you when you come home, sleep through till it's time to get up, then shower before going off to work.

Try to grab something to eat on the way into work.

Add fruits and vegetables to your diet.

Add multivitamin with minerals.

Try to get a midday meal or at least a protein snack in.

If you can, take a short break a couple of times at work where you can sit and relax. If you are standing in one place continually, try to do a little bit more walking around and stretching.

Hope this answers your query. If you have further questions, I be happy to answer them.
