Posted on Thu, 29 Dec 2016
Question: About 10 years ago, I was told that I had IBS after a colonoscopy. Two and a half years ago, I was experiencing some cramps in my stomach and I noticed a little mucus in my stool; therefore I ran to the emergency room. I had a CT Scan and my organs were all great. About a month ago, I noticed my stomach is making a lot of noise especially when i'm in bed. I am so nervous, I went to see my PCP and he listened to it an told me it was regular colon noise. Why I'm I having this noise? please help

It's normal bowel movements

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear User ! Thank you for using HCM.
I read your question and i understand your concern.

Don't worry if your doctor visited You and sad its no problem must be so.

I would exsplain you the noise you have .
It's cause of your bowel movements , normally the bowels contract so the food can pass through the intestinal tract and this is called peristaltic of the bowels .
Sometime bowels move when you we are hungry or when we have gas or some food that can irritate our intestine (bowels ) .
In your condition , IBS may cause increase bowel movement also .
Follow these advices :
- Avoid empty stomach (Eat dinner , eat something small every time that you feel your stomach empty and the bowel movement )
-Limit the food that produce gas (carbonated drink , fruits ,beans ..)
-Avoid food that can irritate it.

Hope I have answered your question.
If you have any further clarifications I will be happy to help.If not you can c losse the discussion.
Take Care .
