Brief Answer:
would need blood test from your doctor to check for the h pylori

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that your continuous symptoms are related to the presence of the H pylori bacteria as you suggested.

Normally this is is confirmed by a blood test which can be done at your doctor's office. Your doctor would send the sample to the lab where they can check for the H pylori.

If it is confirmed then the triple therapy is started. Confirmation is normally required before initiating this course of treatment.

The anti acids that you are using help decrease the acids that is already present in the stomach.

Prilosec and the other meds in this family work differently, they would stop the excess acid from being produced in the first place.
They would not affect the acid already there , this is why it can take 5 to 7 days for an effect from prilosec (and prevacid, nexium, aciphex, protonix).

After this 5 to 7 days, these meds would be better at controlling symptoms than the anti acids. During the first 5 to 7 days, antiacids can be used with the prilosec because they have an immediate effect.

After that time , the prilosec or similar meds are used on their own because they would slow down or stop any more acid production.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Detailed Answer:
HI

Sorry about the late reply

No question is stupid, you can ask what you wish. Unfortunately we can only offer advice and are not able to help with providing investigations or treatment

I am sorry about the inconvenience but you would need to contact your doctor for testing
