What Causes Frequent Urination At Night?
Question: For sometime now I ve been having frequent urination especially at night, each time I woke up with the urge to urinate there will be this pepperish feelings all over my body, after urination it eases. I am 54.

The causes of the symptoms of frequency, urgency and pepperish feeling at your age of 54 can be due to the following few reasons:
It is more likely to be due to infection of the urinary tract, and may be the reason for the pepperish feeling you get with the urge and eases after urination.
Another probable reason can be a cystocele with or without prolapse of the uterus.
I would advise the following in such a patient.
Blood- complete blood picture, kidney functions tests, blood sugar fasting and post-lunch,
Urine- routine,microscopy, culture and sensitivity ( before start of antibiotic)
Ultrasonography of abdomen.
An examination by a Gynecologist to see for the prolapse and any other Gynecoligical problems.
All these will help to determine the cause and give a perfect plan for further management.
Till then take plenty of oral fluids.
Antibiotics may be started by your Gynecologist / Urologist the moment you give samples of blood and urine- not before the samples are given as it may affect the reports adversely and can give false reports.
