Lifestyle changes and dietary habits are more important.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic!
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.

Patients with dementia or Alzheimer's have more chance of over active bladder compared to general population.
You can go for pharmacological(using drugs) and non pharmacological management for this condition.

I suggest you to consult a physician and get the following things done:-
(1)- Do basic blood and urine investigation to rule out UTI(urinary tract infection) which can cause frequent urination in elderly. Check his blood sugar level to rule out undetected diabetes.
(2)- get PSA(prostate specific antigen) and ultrasound to rule out prostate enlargement, which can also cause similar symptoms.
(3)- Limit fluid intake at night, especially caffeinated drinks, carbonated sodas, and alcohol.
** You can try medicines like "trospium" and "solifenacin" which are effective and commonly used for this condition, but keep in mind that these are prescription drugs and always seek help from a physician before attempting this.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
Dr.Shinas Hussain
