Brief Answer:
enral examination, causes generally not too serious, evaluation to determin

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank for the query,

Frequent nose bleeds especially in adults require a good evaluation from the primary care doctor, at times the otolaryngologist. Left untreated, repeated losses in blood could lead to anemia.

It is imperative to properly examine and ascertain the cause of such bleeds. The causes are generally trivial but could also be serious at times. A local examination can lead to discover a foreign body, deviation of perforation of the nasal septum, rhinitis, chronic sinusitis or some polyps. It is important to ask him if he takes some type of drugs. Steroids that irritate the nasal area, smoke or even trauma, with frequent touching of the nasal septum can explain nose bleeding.

Checking for a family history of hemophilia is also important. Ensuring that the blood pressure is within normal limits is also important as raised blood pressures could lead to nose bleeding. Some rare causes of nose bleeding like liver disease and blood abnormalities (low platelets, leukemia) should also be checked. these are however rare but important.

Knowing the drugs he takes frequently if any is important. Non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs can cause nose bleeding.

A local examination of the nose by a doctor, and probably an otolaryngologist generally leads to ascertaining the extent and repercussions of the bleeding on the patient, and also knowing the cause of the bleeding.

No real worries as the causes are generally easy to manage. However, I recommend a evaluation by his primary care doctor/otolaryngologist.

Thanks and kind regards as I send best wishes of health.
