Brief Answer:
You should consult to other center

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to H.C.M.

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

The normal potassium level is 3.5-5.0 mEq/L.

Hypokalemia is defined as when potassium level is less than 3.5 mEq/L.

You suffered from severe hypokalemia and it is defined as a level less than 2.5 mEq/L.

Many things can cause potassium loss from our body and some common causes are here-

The use of diuretics, or pills that cause urine production.
Severe diarrhea and vomiting,
Excessive use of laxatives can also cause symptoms.
Kidney failure.
Complications from diabetes.
Hyperthyroidism.

You should consult to other center for proper work up and find out the cause for Severe Hypokalemia because it is dangerous for life.

Please tell me about any disease you are suffering from and since how long.

Thanks.

Hope this answers your question.

If you have any query, then please do not hesitate.
I will be happy to answer your questions.

I spoke to my pcm and was referred to the Nephrology clinic. I don't use laxitives and have had diarrhea which didn't happen until I was hospitalized, My urine was tested but there was no evidence of potassium loss.

Thank you so very kindly,
