Question: Hello Dr.
My Son is 4 years old, his weight is 14.5 kg and height is 102 cm.
He is very active and he eats 5 times a day.
I have visited Dr last week on 4-jul-2015 ,to check if there is anything we need to worry as he is not gaining weight.
We conducted following blood test and its result :
1. Free thyroxine (FT4) - 1.11 ng/dl
2. TSH (THYROID STIMULATING HORMONE) - 2.81 uIU/ml

He passes motions 3-4 times a day. it seems his stool has some mucous in it. but I not sure if it is normal. Please advise.

Brief Answer:
Lab tests are perfectly normal

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to the HCM

I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Don't worry. The reports are perfectly fine.

Frequency of poops, mucous in it and poor weight gain in children occurs most likely due to worm infestation.

It can be easily treated by a single dose of Albendazole(400mg). Repeat the same after 15 days for complete elimination of worms.

Also, probiotic such as enterogermina are good for restoring healthy gut flora.

Hopefully this will help you. I would be happy to help you in any further questions.
Take care
