Yesterday i was siting felt a flutter top of lefft chest i thought it was a heart issue all of a sudden my whole body felt warm and i felt numb but after a few minutes i was perfectly fine. I have had anxiety issues i am taking propranolol for the physical symptoms. 1 x 40mg tablet.

I went to my doctor who said we done ECG to rule out heart problem he listened to my chest he said its fine.

Brief Answer:
This could be due to anxiety.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.

I have read your query and can understand your concerns.

You were having fluttering/bubbly feeling in left side of chest followed by warm feeling and numbness in whole body for few minutes.

The most probable reason for this could be your anxiety (provided ECG and chest was normal as you mentioned). Anxiety issues in some people can cause muscle spasms in the body and sites could be different each time.

Another possible reason could be pre-cordial catch syndrome if that bubbly feeling in chest was accompanied by pain.

I would like to tell you that in either of the cases, the problem is not life-threatening.

If it happens again, just try to stay calm first of all. Take deep and slow breaths. Remember that this is not serious problem. This will prevent your from panicking.

Keep regular follow-ups with your physician.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for a detailed answer. My problem is it makes me panic. Does a ECG rule out heart problem? Can it be a side effect of propranolol

Brief Answer:
ECG can diagnose a heart problem

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the follow-up query.

ECG is a preliminary investigation to diagnose heart disorders. But, it does not rule out all heart problems. A Echocardiography can be done further.

Propranolol can cause numbness and tingling sometimes but the not symptoms of bubbly feeling like spasms.

Next time when it happens, just try to stay calm. Take deep and slow breaths. Remember that this is not serious problem and you are not going to die because of this. This will prevent your from panicking.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.
