What Causes Flushing On One Side Of The Face And Neck?

Question: Half of my sons face gets flushed red when hot while the other half keeps usually skin color. Also when checking his temples one temple/side of forehead reads a couple of degrees higher than the other side. What could cause this?

Increased temperature and flushing on one side of face,neck and sometimes upper chest after exposure to heat or strenuous exercise is known as Herlequin syndrome.
It is usually caused by damage/hypersensitivity of the nerves supplying the same area.
It is usually a benign condition and does not has serious effect on health.So treatment is not needed in most of the cases.
I would suggest you to consult a neurologist for proper evaluation and treatment if needed accordingly.
