Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.

Based on the values of your father BP (fluctuating between 143-153/ 82-91 mmHg) he has stage I of hypertension ( patients with BP above 140 mmHg are considered to be hypertensive).

It's recommended for patients who have BP above 140 mmHg to start a healthy lifestyle and diet, medical treatment in order to mantain BP below 140 mmHg. These measures are done to reduce future healtg complications especially cardiovascular events (including heart attack and stroke).

Moreover Your father should contact his doctor to run the following examination before starting medical treatment:
- Blood work
- Ecg
- Cardiac echo
- BP monitoring

If he was my patient I would recommend as follows:
- Loose weigh
- Reduce alcohol intake to less than one drink per day
- Quit smoking
- Reduce salt intake
- Increase physical activity
- Use omega 3 fish oil and CoQ 10 supplements

If this dietary and life style aren't effective on controlling BP I would recommend to start medical therapy to do so.

Hope this will be of help!
Wish you health!
