What Causes Fever And Sore Throat In A 5 Year Old Child?

Posted on Mon, 13 Jun 2016
Question: My 5 year old daughter has a fever of 104.3 I don't know if I should take her in to the doctor or just giver her some tylenol. She has no known allergies to anything but red food coloring. She complained of a sore throat yesterday but not today. she is also not lethargic. She seems almost like her normal self. She's just really hot. I was thinking I would put her in a warm bath and let it her play while it cools and cools her off.

Brief Answer:
Fever

Detailed Answer:
Hello. I just read through your question.
In an otherwise well appearing child, there is no reason to head to the doctor. If at any point she starts complaining about pain again, or becomes lethargic, it would be worth a visit to the doctor. Otherwise, tylenol is fine while we wait for this to resolve.
