What Causes Fever After Taking Clavam 625?

Question: I have a boil and am taking clavam 625 for it. But after taking clavam for 4 days, I have caught a fever as well. What could be the cause of fever when I am already taking antibiotics

Perhaps the fever is due to the viral flu.

I suggest you take symptomatic treatment for fever i.e tab. Paracetamol.

Is the boil responding to an oral antibiotic?

I suggest you to also apply a topical antibiotic e.g. either Neosporin ointment or Mupirocin ointment on the boil.

Fever could be because if the boil is not responding to antibiotic and is turning into an abscess. That is why I asked you that, is the boil responding to an oral antibiotic? If an abscess is forming, it needs to be drained.

Another reason for fever could be an unrelated cause like viral flu.
