What Causes Fatigue?
Question: My question : i am always tired every single day even after i wake up in the morning. I sleep appox. 8 hours a night in a dark and cool bedroom. I usually sleep straight through the night but somehow I still wake up feeling tired. I usually cannot shake the fatigue off during the day and try to stay active but feel more tired after activity. Sometimes I will take a nap but I feel worse when I wake up. I do not drink any caffine at night nor I drink sodas. I drink a lot of water. The one thing I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism cause by hashimotos disease. I currently am taking 125mcgof levothyroxine and get my thyroid checked regularly. My levels have been tested recently and my doctor said they are stable in the normal range and keep taking my meds. I don't have any sickness or anything else but i am so tiredd of being fatigued all the time with some forgetfulness and feeling foggy. I makes me irritable when i can not concentrate especially at work. I was wondering if it could be something else. Please shed some light on this for me.
Brief Answer:
Thyroid
Detailed Answer:
I am sorry to note how you feel.
May I please know the exact values on your lab for the following thyroid blood tests that you will likely have underwent:
1 TSH
2 Free T4
3 Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO) antibodies
4 Thyroglobulin antibodies
Further it is always useful to ensure your hemoglobin, liver, kidney, electrolytes, glucose and calcium are normal. The following blood tests help rule these out:
CBC
CMP
High glucose or calcium can cause constant fatigue. Low hemoglobin can cause anemia which can result in tiredness
The above tests will give a fair idea on these parameters
