What Causes Fainting After Steam Inhalation?

Question: I have put some bangay cream in hot boiling water,and I put a blanket on ttop of my head astarted breathing the steam for thirty min.SOMe one told me this remedy helps fight the flu.
My sinus was cleared,but at 3:00AM i hadt to go to the bathroom,as as I was standing infront of the mirior,I felt dizzy and collapsed on the bath room floor for 30 sec.Your advice is greatly appreciated.

I don't think this is related to this kind of home remedy and it may happen because if various reasons which are most benign such as blood pressure variations, sugar level fall or temporary heart arrithmia.also it is more common in respiratory infections since it may cause irritation of vagal nerve which is related to dizziness. I think you should rest at this point. Avoid lights and smoky areas, eat easier food and don't use steam inhalation anymore. If it happens again you need to consult neurologist.wish you good health.
