What Causes Extreme Fatigue, Foggy Memory, Lack Of Concentration And Tremors?

default
Posted on Tue, 13 Oct 2015
Question: Hi doc! I'm just trying to do some more research to help find out what is going on with my health. My dr recently took more blood tests including an AM cortisol test. I am exhausted tired even after a solid 8 to 9 hrs of sleep. My head is foggy and I have a hard time focusing for at least an hour or two when I wake up. My entire body is very achy especially my back & shoulders. My hands are shaky and I'm jittery & sometimes start to feel overheated & take my shirt off to cool down. It's been getting gradually worse for about 7 or 8 months. I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea about 4 months ago, have been using my CPAP every night but I'm still SO tired. Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks! XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome should be considered.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Symptoms you describe correlate better with a condition such Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

The exact cause of this condition is unknown, but some factors that may be related are viral infections ( Epstein-Barr, HPV etc.), immune system problems, hormones dysbalances ( those produced by pituitary, hypothalamus and adrenal glands ).

Other diseases such sleep disorders (sleep apnea), hypothyroidism and stress disorder can cause Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

So, in your case, if sleep apnea is well controlled and fatigue syndrome persists, other causes mentioned above should be evaluated as well.

I suggest you to discuss with your primary care Doctor about above mentioned possibilities of your symptoms.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Best regards.
