Question: Hi. I am experiencing pins and needles, feeling of some numbness in my left hand and some pins and needles in my right hand but no numbness. This just started about a week ago. Alleve helps with the accompanying tingling that resides in my hands but sometimes my arms as well. What sort of doctor do I need to schedule an appointment with?

Brief Answer:
You need to consult a Neurologist.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms.

The numbness and pins and needle sensations (paresthesias) are suggestive of peripheral neuropathy, affecting the nerves in the hands.

This can be confirmed by a detailed neurological examination and doing nerve conduction studies.

I hope it helps.

Best wishes,
