Brief Answer:
This is not urinary tract infection - don't worry about report

Detailed Answer:
Hi.... This is not urinary tract infection. As there is no fever, you need not worry about the urinary report. This can be treated as normal report itself.

Now, coming to your question about recurrent crying of the baby, I feel this is evening colic. I will explain you what it is, so that you will be more confident about this issue.

This is called evening colic and is quite common in this age group. This happens when the baby sucks at the breast very fast and in eagerness to drink milk will gulp in air too. Unless the air comes out like burping or flatus this discomfort will be there and next time check if the baby is sucking too fast and gulping in air too. You will be more convinced. Usually I don't advice any medicines for this as they give only temporary relief.
The two best ways to relieve this distress is -
1. Do not put the baby in lying position after feeding till the baby burps out the swallowed air.
2. If still crying - put the baby in prone position and keep patting the back gently so that the baby passes off the flatus and gets relieved.

Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health.

Thanks for the reply doctor..Our son often sleeps while drinking milk at night...and even in mid night he drinks milk lying on bed...that time burping disturbs his sleep and he wakes up crying if we try for burping...what should I do that time? And is there any diet restrictions for my wife to prevent this colic issue in baby,as we give him only mother's feed..?? Please help

Brief Answer:
Suggestions on technique of breastfeeding and Evening Colic

Detailed Answer:
Hi.... coming to your queries directly one by one -

1. Please do not feed the baby while the baby is in lying position, sometimes it can get aspirated and cause respiratory problems.

2. There are no specific dietary restrictions for the mother.

3. Colic is caused by swallowed air and it is not related to the contents of the breast milk. It is related to the technique of breastfeeding. Actually when the baby is breastfed in lying down position, the chances of swallowing the air increase and the chances of colic also increase.

Hope this helps.
