What Causes Erectile Dysfunction Post Excessive Masturbation?

default
Posted on Mon, 21 Nov 2016
Question: I am 34 yrs old male.
I have XXXXXXX married since 2 yrs now.

I am obsessive with masturbation and can have a good erection, and controlled ejacuation during masturbation.
I masturbate almost 2ce daily since more than 10 years now.

Earlier, when I was 26 yrs old, I could reach orgasm and good erections during sex... With my ex girlfriend.
Later I didn't have sex till I was 32 yrs old... It was always masturbation.

Now, my issue is...
When I am about to do an intercourse, my erection decreases and does not remain rigid for long... So I again start masturbation and my wife feels unsatisfied.

I fail to achieve that level of orgasm that I am used getting during masturbation. Maybe it's because I am so used to the type of sensation I get during masturbation, that during insertion I don't feel that sensation.

Is this all got to do with excessive masturbation?
Does excessive masturbation also decrease sperm count?

Since a few years I have also been drinking alcohol and smoking.

I need help as this is breaking my marriage relationship.

Brief Answer:
I do not think it is due to masturbation

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

In my view smoking and alcohol are more likely cause of poor sexual performance than masturbation alone. It is possible that guilt associated with masturbation or misconception associated with masturbation are contributing to the weak erection and orgasm rather than masturbation itself.

You may argue that there is no problem in masturbation but we need to understand that masturbation do not require intense erection which is essential for penetration.

Similarly there is no link between reduced sperm count and masturbation. For proper sperm count (semen analysis ) three days of sexual abstinence is required and should be strictly followed up before going for test.

To conclude it is important to discard any misconceptions out guilt associated with masturbation as it is unlikely cause for your problem.

Hope I am able to answer your concerns.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

I think there is lot to be done at your end.
First there is no place for smoking and alcohol for a person who wants healthy sexual life and it needs to be stopped as soon as possible.

Second the misconception that masturbation causes erection problem or low sperm count need to be corrected. Although these pants can be corrected by yourself, in case that is not possible you can seek help of local psychiatrist for counseling and treatment of alcohol and smoking problem.

Thirdly there is need to stress management. It is possible that stress arising from guilt of having masturbation is causing problem.

Fourth masturbation following failed intercourse need to be stopped as this causes conflict and further stress. Rather than this it is important to invite your wife again for foreplay and get required erection again.

Finally if that does not help you need to do following tests from nearby laboratory to find out the causes of erectile dysfunction and revert back to me.
1. Serum testosterone
2. Serum prolactin
3. LH
4. FSH
5. Penile doppler study

I hope this helps you further

Yes it will help you

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

Once you stop the smoking and alcohol the progression of damage is halted and body gets a chance to repair self. Although the repair process continues throughout life but if somebody engages in harmful practices there is mismatch between damage and repair thus leading to problems.

I do not think spina bifida occult is a part of problem now as this is occult which is quite mild in nature and often do not cause any problem for majority of individuals.

I hope this assists you further.
Thanks and regards.
