What Causes Episodes Of Hallucinations In A Parkinson's Disease Patient?

Question: Hello Doctor,

My father, 78 years old, is a patient of Parkinson for last 7 years and has been taking levodopa and other related medcines to control tremors. He was recently hospitalized due to episode of unconsiousness. All his vital stats came fine. Weakness and irregular medication was the only explanation that doctors provided for his sudden unconsiousness. Apart from medicines and supplements Doctor had suggested for proper diet to recover from weakness. He has been recovering but at a very slow pace.
Eversince, he was discharged from the hospital, we have observed that his food intake has reduced drastically. Also, in night, sometimes he has episodes of hallucinations.

I would like to request you if you can suggest any good syrup/tablet to improve his appetite. At present he hardly takes half a chapati or 2-3 glucose buiscuits in a meal.
Regards

Protinex powder/some syrups.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

Of course appetiser syrups like aptimust, apizine, apevit may be taken. But,promote him on natural diet.Syrups do not make wonders in appetite.

Along with, protinex powder can be given to supplement protein requirements.

Hope that helps. If you have any specific questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.

Thank you Dr. XXXXXXX for your answer.

The reason I asked for any syrup or tonic is so that my dad can feel a bit hungry to have some food. As of now it is becoming very hard for us make him eat anything. We also want him have proper normal meals. But for some reason he is so reluctant to eat. Only couple of buiscits or one chapati in whole day, he eats. So we thought of trying some syrups for that.

Dr. Should we just go by the dose prescribed on the syrup bottle and protinex?
