What Causes Enlarged Mass Below The Waist?

default
Posted on Fri, 16 May 2014
Question: I have an enlarged place beginning just below my waist on the right side (front of abdomen) a little larger than a golf ball underneath fatty tissue. I just pushed on it and it gurgled. No actual pain. Just found it this week. A little tender when pushed on and seemed to get smaller. Waited a few minutes and it did not gurgle. Could this be a hernia?

Brief Answer:
Possibly Hernia

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

From the description you have provided, this could be hernia. A mass in the abdomen that gurgles could only contain intestines. Also, you being able to reduce the size and the absence of pain are very suggestive of a possible hernia. Are there any changes in the size when sitting? standing upright?

I will suggest that you book an appointment at your earliest convenience to get examined. I am certain it will provide definite answers to what the exact problem is. You would also be proposed a management plan to address this condition.

Please, do well to get a new doctor and get your medications as before. It is always advisable and beneficial to stay compliant at all times on treatment.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and do feel free t ask for more information and clarification if need be.
