Brief Answer:
Need further evaluation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mr. XXXX,

Thanks for your question.

After going through your question, I can understand your concern.

If patient with similar scenario would have come to me I would have advised him -
1) Blood tests
- HbA1c.
- Lipid profile.
- Ultra TSH.
- Complete blood count.
- Renal function test.
- Liver Function test.

2)ECG and if required 2DEcho depending upon your clinical examination and ECG findings.

3) Continue Tab Glycomet (metformin) 250mg Twice a day.

4) Repeat Fasting and PP BSL after 2 weeks.
Depending on it and your Renal function test suitable changes in dose of metformin or addition of another drug may be required.

5) Take Tablet containing Statin (Lipid Lowering medicine) its dose will be decided depending on Lipid profile.

6) Restrict calories. If possible consult near by dietitian who can plan diet for you considering your height and weight, blood sugar control and food habits.

6) Regular exercise like brisk walking depending upon your level of activity after consulting your diabetologist.

7) Once blood sugar levels under control there is a need to screen for diabetic complications.

Hope I have answered your question.
I will be happy to answer your follow up question, if any.
Otherwise you can close the question and rate the answer.
