Question: dear Dr,i had 20% fibrosed liver(7.7) in liver scan on 05/18/2015. i had the serum levels of SGOT=29.77,SGPT=43.81,Bilurubin=0.88,lipid profile HDL-30,LDL-139.2,HCV non reactive.I had HBV immunisation with Engerix B. i was given T.Heptral,400mg(b.d),t.Roliptin 5mg (o.d),t.Multigates,T.Gate,T.Essentale.i am taking the above drugs for the past 50days.now my SGOT -43,SGPT60.22,Bilurubin-1.08,HDL-44,LDL-67.kindly suggest why SGOt &SGPT has increased.now,What to do

Hi Mam,

I understand your concern.

The elevated SGPT and SGOT are related to progression of the underlying fibrosis.

The lipid profile has improved with Tab Roliptin.

Progression of fibrosis is an continuous and an irreversible phenomenon.

I advise you to get a repeat liver scan .if possible liver biopsy after consulting your Surgical Gastroenterologist.
