Brief Answer:
Kindly provide a detailed history

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query in Healthcaremagic.com.
This is Dr. Swarnava Dattagupta answering your query.

I understand your concern.
But you have provided a very short history. I need to know few more things before I come up with a definite answer. Kindly answer the following-

What is your problem?
Why did you get an ESR test done?
Do you have any comorbidities like diabetes, hypertension etc?
Have you done any other tests? If yes, kindly send me the reports.

In general, high ESR values denote an inflammation or infection. When the values are quite high like in your case, chances of an ongoing infection is likely. Causes can be many, we have to rule out various causes to come to a diagnosis.

Anyways, kindly answer the above so that I could help you further.

Hope I have answered your question.
If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Regards.

I am having leg pain just above the ankle of my right leg and also back pain where the shoulder bone meet. And also just above the hip. I consulted a Dr and he advised me some exercise and blood test. In which ESR was 110, HB 10.8, TC 7700; C. Reactive protein negative, blood urea 30 mg, random blood sugar 82, S.creatinine 1mg%, S.uric acid 4mg% and RA factor negative. I am not any medicine for sugar, hypertension or cholesterol.

Brief Answer:
Repeat ESR; follow as advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Sorry for the late reply.

Taking your symptoms and other test results into account, your ESR report seems a bit out of place. Such high ESR would have had some ongoing infection. But the CRP is negative, also your symptoms point more towards an inflammation than an infection. So I would suggest to repeat the test.
Your problem might be due to inflammatory arthropathy. Continue exercise and painkiller medicine as and when needed. Also follow your doctor's advice. Don't worry much about the ESR result.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
