What Causes Dry Cough In Infants?

Question: My baby is 5 months old . She is having dry cough from past 3-4 days . everytime she coughs it sounds like her throat is getting scratched from inside . she is coughing approx once in an Hr for 3-4 secs. but he starts crying after the cough . she was also hving water running from eyes and noise and Mild fever , I have given her Senorest drops thrice a day (2 ml) for past 2 days ....... I cud see that eyes watering and sneezing has gone but no diff in coughing rather its getting worst , please tell me what to give her , is there any cough syrup for kids less than 6months? Pls reply me asap, she cudnt sleep all night yest because of this ...... waiting for the reply..

Brief Answer: Relax. Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for your query. I understand your concern. Respiratory infections are mostly viral in nature and settles in few days. I suggest you to get her examined by pediatrician as physical examination is needed to see type of cough . If such patient will come to my clinic I will recommend cough syrup having dextomethorphen with phenylephrine and chlorpheneramine(tusq dx) 2ml thrice a day.In case of dry cough and ambroxil in case of wet cough.
