What Causes Dizziness Upon Standing With Pain Under Left Rib Cage?
Should I be concerned? Is this cardiac or a pulled muscle? Thank you!
I would explain as follows:
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome back on HCM!
Regarding your feeling of dizziness when standing up quickly form bending or sitting position, I could explain that it seems to be caused by some degree of orthostatic hypotension (a relative decrease in blood pressure value when taking a fast erect position).
As long as that dizziness feeling is quite brief and no associated symptomatology is present (syncope, etc), there in nothing to worry about. Just be more careful and follow more harmonic and gradual movements when standing up to avoid this phenomenon from repeating again.
From the other part, that kind of pain (a prolonged pain which is modulated by deep breaths and posture) is not cardiac related.
So, relax and don't worry about!
If the pain persists again, you could try any pain killer drugs, like ibuprofen, naproxen, etc.
Hope to have been helpful to you!
Feel free to ask me again, in case of any further uncertainties.
Kind regards,
Dr. Iliri
Are there any exercises or type of breathing I can do by myself to make this rib cage pain go away? I like to try natural routes first before medicine.
Thanks again.
Just try to relax.

Hi again,
I think that some aerobics or stretching could be helpful for relaxing your joints and muscles.
Nevertheless, if this doesn't work, a medical checkup would be advisable.
