Question: Hi,my 5 year old daughter has developed abt 1 cm round discolouration on her forehead all of a sudden.it happened after she had fallen off on the table and hit her forehead.we don't know this discolouration is due to the effect of fall or not.Doc prescribed loprolif and efficient and told this is due hyper pigmentation..
Is everything or should I take more advice?

Brief Answer:
I suggest you to continue with this Rx for 4-6 weeks and then follow up

Detailed Answer:
Hi. Thank you for Images.

She seems to have an illdefined hypopigmented patch on forehead and this is most likely either post-inflammatory hypopigmentation Or pre-vitiligo.

The treatment which she has been prescribed contains tacrolimus ointment 0.03% and hydrocortisone aceponate cream 0.127% cream.
I completely agree with this treatment approach and it could not have been better than this to begin with.

Therefore I suggest you to continue with this treatment for at least 4-6 weeks and then follow up with your dermatologist. Tacrolimus ointment is to be applied twice daily (morning and afternoon), to be rubbed in, for 20-30 seconds. Hydrocortisone aceponate cream is to applied once daily at night.

There are practically no side effects with these topical medications except that tacrolimus ointment may give rise to a mild smarting sensation at the site of application but that is usually not of much of a concern in patients.
Hydrocortisone aceponate is a moderately potent topical steroid and is also absolutely safe if used under supervision of a doctor for the duration recommended.

Regards
