Brief Answer:
The spasm will settle nothing to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day
Dear Sir

When foleys catheter is inserted and the bulb inflated, the bulb acts as foreign body and induces bladder spasm. This symptoms are quite common during first 2 to 3 weeks after insertion. The spasm will usually subside and there is no cause for concern. They are not dangerous.
If the symptoms still persist then bladder relaxants can be used in consultation with your Physician.

Brief Answer:
Ejaculation is acceptable

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir

Even evacuation and semen in catheter is acceptable and there is definitely no cause for concern. It should settle down. It occurs due to bladder neck stimulation by bulb of foleys.

Wishing you and your family a very happy and healthy life.

Thank you, one last question, will the foley be removed during the cystogram and replaced pending results or left out ?

Answered by Dr. Deepak Kishore Kaltari (7 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Will depend on Cystogram finding

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Cystogram will usually require removal of foleys to take Micturating Cystourthrogram film. If you had long standing urinary obstruction symptoms then fresh foleys preferably Silicon foleys catheter need to be placed. Exact decision will depend on indication for which it was inserted and also based on Cystogram finding.
