Brief Answer:
Voluntary&involuntary stimuli for breathing proces

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,

Thank you for your interest.

The breathing process consists of involving voluntary and involuntary stimuli.

When having difficulties in breathing, the very first thing is to check what causes it:
- foreign body
- anxiety
- heartburn
- heart problem (high blood pressure).

Next, I usually recommend my patients who are having difficulty in breathing due to anxiety/stress to:
- take a deep breath with nose
- then, hold it for a while
- then exhale through mouth

Hope it will help you too. Let me know if you have further queries! I'd be happy to assist you through the process.

Brief Answer:
Try to use your nostrils when inhaling...

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

Breathing comes naturally, and you cannot force it. In cases when you have difficulty in breathing, your brain gives signals to you in order to start voluntary manoeuvrings to ease breathing (as mentioned earlier).

To my opinion, do not force yourself in breathing in and out as it comes naturally. The only recommendation I can give is to always breathe in by using your nose and not mouth. In this way, air flow will be:
- warmed to body temperature,
- filtered from impurities
- get moistened enough to your body's needs

Hope it helped! All the best!
