What Causes Diarrhea After Having Clamp For Fever?
Question: Hi Doctor,
Yesterday my baby had a mild fever and did not sleep for the enitre night. hence went to doctor and he precribed the below medicines and it worked well. Finally he does not have fever. However since today morning he is suffering from loose motions and its color is dark green. We used one ECONORM XXXXXXX and it conrolled but again after lunch again loose motions happend two times.Then we gave second dose of ECONORM and also we are giving him ORS so that his salts does not come down. Please advise further. Thank you for your help in advance.

Usually clamp which has amoxicillin can cause loose stools.
That is the reason your doctor has prescribed econorm which is a probiotic.
What I suggest is:
1. Continue clamp along with econorm and Ors as you are giving now for a day and see if loose stools settle or atheist improve.
If your kid is active and playful no need to worry.
It is better to change antibiotics if loose stools worsen or no improvement, then
I usually prescribe azithromycin which is safer in such patients.

I usually prescribe azithromycin 100mg syrup 5ml once daily for 5 days for one year old kids.
