What Causes Delay In Period Along With Bloating And Stomach Cramps?

default
Posted on Wed, 13 May 2015
Question: Hi there. I've been trying to conceive and am 5 days late, although I have had period type cramps for the last week and awful bloating. This afternoon I have had terrible cramps, nearly passed out at work (feeling faint) and nauseous and a very watery brown mucous discharge which doesn't feel like my normal period. My cycle length recently has been 23 days and my luteal phase is normally 12-13 days (I am currently 15 days past ovulation) should I be worried?

Brief Answer:
urine pregnancy test advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.

In my opinion you need to do a urine pregnancy test as soon as possible because it can be a very early intrauterine pregnancy in the process of abortion or a tubal ectopic pregnancy.

In case pregnancy test is positive get an ultrasound to see for the site of pregnancy.

Do the pregnancy test and tell me the results as soon as you can.

All the best.

I will go out and buy a test as I'm away from home. Thank you for getting back to me, I really appreciate it My pregnancy test was negative. I can't understand it, this "period" is nothing like my normal period. It's very light for starters and is very dark brown in colour.

Is there any further advice you can give me? I should mention that I am using an "Ovu-sense" machine measuring my basal temp. It shows I have ovulated every month without fail.

Brief Answer:
ultrasound advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX sorry for the delay in response as I had some issues with my web connection.
In my opinion you need to get an ultrasound done at the earliest because I want to rule out tubal ectopic pregnancy.
All symptoms mentioned by you point towards that and thus needs to be evaluated.
Yes ectopic pregnancy can be still there with a negative pregnancy test!!
So get the ultrasound and then update the results.
Hoping for the best.
