Question: HI doctor, I was undergoing folliculometry on 3/10/14 my egg size was 13mm (14th day after periods ), so doctor discontinued folliculometry & advises 10 Susten SR 300mg from 04/10. its almost 11 days now after finishing SUSTEN course but still didnt get periods (feeling cramps from last 4-5 days).Earlier after finishing I usually get periods within 3-4 days. What could be the cause, is there a chance of pregnancy.

Brief Answer:
May be you are pregnant.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing to us about it.

Susten contain the hormone progesterone in it.

When it is given in the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle (when progesterone levels are low) it will be helpful in conceiving fast and support the pregnancy.

If you will not get menstruation after stopping the medication you should go for a home urine pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy.

If test results are negative you should wait for 4-5 days more for your menses.

Hope it is useful, feel free to ask more.

Good luck.

Brief Answer:
After 7 days of your missed period date.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Nice to hear from you all again.

A home urine pregnancy test usually performed after 7 days of your missed period date.

If test results are negative you can confer with your treating physician and go for a beta HCG test to confirm it.

Hope it is useful, feel free to ask more question.

Good luck.

Hello doctor,
I have rechecked home pregnancy test today morning but was negative. Today is 8th day of my missed period. Cramps are still on from last one week as it's during menses and appearing from last 2 days that's it's about to flow, but no discharge is there.what could be other early signs of pregnancy as I don't have any other symptoms like morning sickness. How long shall I wait to confirm pregnancy or to consult my doctor?

Hi,

Nice to get word from you all again.

As your pregnancy test results are negative after 8 days you should confer with your treating physician and get your trans vaginal ultrasound test done to rule out the cause of delayed menses.

Early symptoms of pregnancy are fatigue, nausea, vomiting, mood swing, feeling weight gain.

Hope it is useful, feel free to ask further questions.

Good luck.
