What Causes Deformity Of Pelvic Bone While Sitting?

default
Posted on Mon, 16 Feb 2015
Question: Hello, I have recently noticed what seems to be a drop in my pubic bone, it is sitting very low and blocking part of my vaginal opening. I am not experiencing any pain. I have had back/knee issues too on and off, could this be an alignment problem or pelvic tilt? Should I see a physio? Thanks

Brief Answer:
Pelvic deformity can be osteomalacia which is very common in females.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have studied your case.

Pelvic deformity can be osteomalacia which is very common in females.
Clinical examination and x ray will help to diagnose pelvic tilt or alignment problem.
I will advise to do x ray pelvis AP view, inlet and outlet view and blood investigation for vit D level and serum calcium level.
I will advise you to consult gynaecologist and do required investigation after clinical examination.
If no appointment with gynaecologist then you can consult physiotherapist.

Core stabilizing pelvic exercises will help.
For osteomalacia you need calcium and vitamin D supplement.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care.
