Brief Answer: Moderately potent steroid Detailed Answer: Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic I am Dr. Kakkar., I have gone through your concern and I have understood it. I would keep a possibility of Irritant dermatitis due to the liquid wart remover. A wart remover medicine usually contains a keratolytic, which can cause irritation and subsequent pigmentation If I was your treating doctor I would have asked you to use a moderately potent topical steroid e.g fluticasone twice daily for 7-10 day, to help the dermatitis resolve. Fluticasone can used for a further 2-3 weeks to lighten the pigmentation I hope this answers your query regards

Brief Answer: OTC Steroid Detailed Answer: Hi. A moderately potent steroid like either Betamethasone valerate OR fluticasone propionate OR mometasone furoate would all be equally effective. I am not sure whether you would get it OTC in your country or not, but you can try, you might find at least one of these OTC. regards

So, will the discoloration go away?

Brief Answer: Follow it up with me after 2-3 weeks Detailed Answer: Hi. The irritant dermatitis should resolve within a week, by then you might notice some amount of peeling of the skin. After the dermatitis resolves, you may apply the same cream on the pre-existing dark spot for another 2-3 weeks or so, if required, to lighten it up further. I think this should make a significant difference to the discoloration by then. You can follow it up with me after 2-3 weeks by clicking on my profile http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-kakkar-s/66939 and asking me a direct question. regards take care
