What Causes Dark Discoloration At The Tip Of The Penis?

Question: Several weeks ago while in the shower I noticed a darkening of the skin on the tip of my penis. The skin turned a dark purpleish/redish color. Yesterday I noticed that there is a small blister like area in the middle of the discoloration. The area of the discoloration has shrank and there is no pain or itching associated with the area. Any idea what this is? If needed, what type of doctor should I make an appointment with?

Hi,

I have seen the image but unfortunately, it is not clear. I cannot really conclude from what am seeing. However, a dermatologist would be able to help make the exact diagnosis and establish a plan. The most common cause of such black spots could be blood under the skin. Rarely, this might be an infection or a mole.

Keep me posted after you get to visit a dermatologist.

Thanks for the additional images. I have reviewed them and this is suggestive of a bleed under the skin. This should normally regress spontaneously over time. Give it 10-14days and report progress to me. This should normally decrease in size and not increase. If it does increases in size, update me immediately.
